April/Spring 2026 Survey Results

The April/Spring 2026 radioCount release includes data for four markets: Belleville, Peterborough, North Bay and Thunder Bay.
This dataset is comprised of measurement between October 27, 2025 and April 26, 2026 (Continuous Measurement).
Highlights from April/Spring 2026
- Across the four measured markets, radio delivered an exceptional performance, with individuals aged 12 and over tuning in for an average of 19.6 hours per week — an impressive 18.5% increase year over year.
- Radio listening remained strong across all key demographics. Both Adults 18–49 and Adults 25–54 averaged 20.2 hours of listening per week. Time spent listening among Adults 18–49 climbed 16.5% compared to last Spring, while Adults 25–54 posted a 13.5% increase over the same period.
- Ratings gains extended across most dayparts. In the crucial Breakfast1 daypart, Adults 25–54 ratings rose 9.1% year over year, while afternoon Drive2 climbed 26.2% — a testament to radio’s enduring strength during peak listening hours.
- Adult Contemporary and Hot AC formats continue to dominate, capturing a 22.2% share of market tuning. Rock stations follow closely with a 19.4% share — up 10.2% from the previous year.
