April/Spring 2023 Survey Results
The April/Spring 2023 radioCount release includes data for five Continuous Measurement markets: Belleville, Peterborough, North Bay, Thunder Bay and Lethbridge.
This dataset is comprised of measurement between October 31, 2022 and April 30, 2023.
There were no station changes from the October/Fall 2022 survey release.
Highlights from April/Spring 2023
- In the five measured markets, radio listening remains strong with an average of 17.9 hours spent tuned to radio weekly by persons aged 12+. This is fairly consistent with our Fall and Spring 2022 results.
- Radio tuning by Adults 25-54 continues to grow. Time spent listening increased from 18.1 hours per week in Spring 2022 to 19.2 in Spring 2023. The increase is driven by male tuning which is up 10.7% from a year ago.
- Adult Contemporary and Hot AC stations are the most listened to formats, capturing a combined 25.2% of 12+ share across all measured markets. Listening to these two formats has increased 9% from Spring 2022.
- Year over year cume has increased for all weekday dayparts for persons 12+ as well as key buying demos Adults 18-49 and 25-54. Overall, cume for Breakfast1 has increased by 2.1%, Day2 by 4.3% and Drive3 by 5.3%.
